WASHINGTON – In its 40th anniversary year, the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS), the Washington public-affairs bureau of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), is calling all creative minds (artists, graphic designers, etc.) to participate in an art contest to help create a brand new logo for UNIS. As times have changed since the bureau was originally founded, it is appropriate to introduce a new and unique logo to capture the full essence of UNIS’s purpose.
The Ukrainian National Information Service has proudly served the Ukrainian community for four decades. Some of the accomplishments of the organization include: annually observing Ukrainian Independence Day; serving as a reliable source of information for correspondents nationwide; and demonstrating in defense of human rights, religious freedom and U.S. support for Ukraine. Additionally, UNIS has campaigned for state visits of Ukrainian presidents to Washington, organized working visits of Ukrainian government officials and NGO leaders to meet with their U.S. counterparts and the community; disseminated Action Items for issues to support in Congress; and sponsored numerous Ukrainian Day advocacy events in Washington. The new logo should represent the organization’s efforts and what it stands for.
Anyone who wishes to participate in the contest must submit a design for the logo by September 20. The winner will be selected and awarded a stipend of $250 at the Ukrainian Day advocacy event and celebratory anniversary reception on Wednesday, October 11, in Washington. In addition, the winner will have the opportunity for his or her logo to be featured as the new official logo of UNIS. All rights to the logo, however, will be reserved for UNIS.
Logo submissions, questions or comments are to be submitted by e-mail to email@example.com. Please indicate “UNIS Logo Competition” in the subject line of the e-mail.
