SOMERSET, N.J. – Nashi Predky, the Ukrainian family history group of the Ukrainian History and Education Center, has been helping families discover their Ukrainian ancestral roots since 2014. To date most spring and fall conferences have taken place in person in Somerset, N.J. Now for the first time, the spring 2018 Ukrainian genealogy conference will be completely online. The event will take place on Saturday, March 17, from 8:20 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.
Presentations will include: “Greek-Catholics in Poland and Family Research”; “Introduction to Ukrainian Genealogy”; “Introduction to DNA and Genetic Genealogy”; and “A Historical Overview of Ukraine.”
Using the GoToWebinar online conferencing platform, attendees can view the presentations from anywhere in the world on their own computer with a web connection. They can also actively participate in the talks and ask questions through a special chat feature. Presentations will be archived for a 72-hour period after the event closes at 2:30 p.m. on March 17.
Registration is $40; members of the Ukrainian History and Education Center get a 10 percent discount. There are less than 100 seats available for the online conference, so readers are advised to register early.
