Bishop Borys Gudziak on being tapped to lead the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the U.S.

On February 18, the Holy See announced that Pope Francis, accepting the recommendation of the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church (UGCC), has appointed Bishop Borys Gudziak, Ph.D., as metropolitan and archbishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadel-phia. For the previous six years Bishop Borys was eparch of the Eparchy of St. Volodymyr in Paris, serving the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic faithful in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
